Why Looks Aren't Everything

We’ve heard so many phrases like, “looks can be deceiving” and “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Anyone who has been in a long-term, meaningful relationship knows that looks change over time.

But that certainly doesn’t mean your relationship sags (sorry, I couldn’t help myself). The truth is that there are countless numbers of outwardly “attractive” people who are miserable and separated.

The same principle is true for brands. You might have amazing looking content. Your logo might be the pinnacle of all the finer principles of design.

However, if your values, messaging, value propositions, and execution (aka: the substance) of your brand is lacking, you will soon be out-of-business. Trust me, I know this first hand and I tell the story of my failed Coffee Truck business in this episode.

The moral of the story is: you can use “looks” to hide, but you can never outrun the true substance of who you are personally, or in the marketplace.

It’s great to work on the substance, together.

Pursue Clarity on the inside and out,

Paul
